Oh I do hope so Gaynor - would be good to get everything tidied up so you can relax for a bit before you start. I can't wait to get started now - like you I have had a period of unemployment also and I need to feel useful again x
Yes I totally get that. Felt like a spare part for so long. I hope so. My mum gave me some money to order some new ankle boots and a cardi for work. Need to get my scarves out for the travel to work.
Hoping to get my travel planning sorted and get ready. Feel like a kid before my first day at school 🤣

I think my tiny brain may explode from all the thoughts racing about in it. I am lucky that my office is just a 5 minute walk from my home too so I have been thinking about umbrellas for goodness sake I sooooo need a new lunchbox and pencil case hahahah!!

Glad its not me. Sadly I'm doing my training in my 2nd choice location so I need to get a bus or 2. Annoying as its 15 mins down the motorway but I've just got rid of my car. Luckily when there's a desk available at my first choice it will be a short walk then 5 mins on a train.
I wish I had some more money lol I need a new handbag that will fit a lunchbox, purse, facemasks etc

Thank you! If it's the same for then hopefully for Wednesday I'll know (14 working days). I've had 17 days so far.

Well done for securing your role!

I have a start date of 30th Nov for July but no formal offer yet. Still waiting to find out location for September. I hope I find out soon so I can make a decision.

Ah did you get BPV or Washington for July? Which are you feeling most? In a JCP customer facing or more virtual?

I got Washington which was my only choice. I would have to take a bus which I’m not thrilled about. I’m leaning more towards customer facing but that’s a 12 month contract whereas Washington will be 18 months.

I think if I get a location within walking distance I would go with that even if it’s a shorter contract. I live with someone who is extremely clinically vulnerable so I’m trying to avoid using public transport if I can. I’ve been working from home since 16th March and have only been out 6 times since then. There’s a good chance I’ll shrivel up when I hit fresh air again

I’ve filled in my pre employment form and I know my current employer has been contacted for a reference but I’ve worked in quite a few different places over the last 3 years. Do they check references with them all?

I think you are the first to start yeah! I’ve just had an email this morning saying my checks are all complete and they will be in touch soon with a start date. I’m hoping it’s sooner rather than later 🤞🏼
How long did you checks take?

Have to do what’s best for you!! I haven’t worked (paid) for 11 years (😵) though been a full time student between 2014-2019.

I’m not even sure I’m ready for the level of human interaction this job is gonna bring, letalone being out in daylight haha. I’m sure I’ve got “covid eyes” - so used to having a ceiling protecting my eyes I have to wear sunglasses on an overcast day haha
