Unsure about my future

I understand that everyone is going through a difficult time right now with covid-19.

I am a school leaver taking a gap year, and I have become very unsure with what I want to do with my future.

At first I wanted to do an apprenticeship, and I was able to do a couple of the stages and one virtual interview which I did not end up getting.

I have a couple of part-time jobs which keeps me busy, and I complete things virtually like: Online courses, volunteering, virtual programmes and all sorts.

However, I am unsure whether to go to university and I never really wanted to, but I will reapply for UCAS for 2021 entry just incase. I am looking to go into a career for law but it is so difficult.

I am thinking about other apprenticeships surrounding business, but right now with the current climate, it is extremely hard. I feel like I am struggling and losing time.

I did A-levels in Business Studies, History and English. I received AAB and I have a lot of work experience...

Any advice?

What I'd say is keep doing your part-time jobs so that you have money readily available when you decide on whether you would like to do an apprenticeship or go to uni for a degree, because usually you have to move away from home.
I haven't as of yet chosen whether to take a gap year, go to uni or do an apprenticeship (I'm still in Yr13), but I know it's a very difficult decision that definitely needs to be informed. So... I would say that you need to keep looking into degrees and also apprenticeships so you can keep your options open.

Thank you for your reply. I think I will just continue looking despite some of the days with a lack of motivation...
It is definitely difficult, especially now with covid. Good luck with your A-levels

For the lack of motivation, take some time for yourself - explore possible new interests and hobbies, do some exercise perhaps. Also, try to involve friends in activities.
Basically, do stuff you enjoy, so that life doesn't feel so stressful and pressuring. Hope everything goes well for you :yy:

Hi mate,

Why the negativity? You've got great grades! I'm a chartered accountant and I took a school leaver / apprenticeship route. So I'd definitely recommend. You can apply to uni and these schemes to keep your options as wide open as possible! I've listed the NAO scheme below which I highly recommend.

I talk more about this on my YouTube page. My channel is called Fehzan Mehdi. I'd recommend giving the School Leaver & Apprenticeships route and Should I go to university? videos a watch!
