How can I improve history analytical/application skills? I do iGCSE history edexcel. I feel like if something isn't directly in the textbook, I don't really know how to apply it. Maybe it's to do with paraphrasing stuff or fully understanding? Would anyone be able to offer advice?

The exam board should or even a similar exam board which does your topics should have model answers, commentary from the examiner how application and analysis was used in a specific answer. Therefore, print off question from the exam board website do the question and use the model answer to see where you were lacking or where you want to develop your technique/ structure and slowly your skills will develop.
