French IRP help

Has anyone that has done their IRP have any tips for getting an A*? I’ve started mine but am really set on getting as high as possible and have no clue on what the examiners like/are looking for in the top band?

One of the most important things is to be as analytical as possible. It's easy to fall into the trap of just describing everything to the examiner.

Kind of an obvious one too but make sure you know your topic inside out. Research and read about it as much as possible, note down and remember any key statistics/dates/etc. When you're in the exam you really have to ''own'' your topic. Be the one to lead the conversation and try to steer the examiner to ask you questions which you know you can answer well.

Good luck
