I don’t do OCR so I’m not sure if it is the same, but you will be able to tell from looking at the syllabus. I would say, based on my experience, have notes on the theory, and then have the criticisms (and responses to the criticisms) after the theory. And do that for every theory presented. (Most of my course has just been theory, criticisms, theory, criticisms etc and I would imagine other courses are the same)
Also I would say make Q cards throughout and test yourself on them regularly.

Which exam board do you do? Is it AQA?
