Stopping a period

I need to stop my period for a couple days.
I have come on early and I have Utolvan to delay it, but because of starting early I hadn't started taking it yet.

Does anyone know how to stop a period once it has started? or if there is anything I can get to do this?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

(Sorry is this is in the wrong forum...I couldn't really find another place to put it.)

let nature take its course.

why would u need to stop it? having an "inspection" (:biggrin:) or something along those lines?

I doubt you can take any medication that will prevent it once it has started.

Yeah I don't knoe why you'd need to stop it...I mean it's not like you'd be going swimming or to the beach in the end of December...
but i read an article thst was about a pill you took every week or something and you only have your perid every 3 months or only 3 times a year, but it ment that you had a less chance of geting pregnant if you were trying..... but mabey it was only in america?

Yes those medications work by preventing the formation of the uterine lining which is all well and good.

However, if she is already having her period, she will not be able to stop it as the lining has to go somewhere and cannot stay in the uterus as that would cause much bigger problems. So for this particular period there is not much she can do.

there are a few ways to delay a period when you know you want to in advance (drugs containing a progestogen like norethisterone need to be taken up to a week before the period would be due!).

but i don't think you can stop one when it has already started :confused: (i have a fairly limited knowledge of periods i'm afraid :p: )

Why would you suddenly want to stop your period?

I was gonna say norethisterone til i realised it'd already started... dangerous... but if u stop eating it will stop... depends how desperate u r...
It takes a while, but not eating *enough* will do the trick. It wouldn't stop a period halfway through though. It would take at least a few months and might depend upon how much you ate. Supposedly there is a bmi/weight that people stop menstruating under, but I don't think weight is such an important factor.

isn't that the whole point of what she's asking though? otherwise she could just take medication a week before.
