I’m currently last year of gcse and need to know if a core subject is a good choice to take at a level to become a primary school teacher. I can only take English and I’m doing foundation for science and maths

being a primary school teacher doesn't require specific a-levels. just do subjects you enjoy and are more likely to get a high grade in.

Are you looking at taking a Primary Education with NQT course (undergrad) or wanting to take a PGCE after university?
If you're wanting to do Primary Ed, you're probably more likely to get considered if you have at least 1 core subject at A-Level.
Your A-Level choices won't matter as much for the PGCE option however they tend to recommend studying a core subject or psychology at university if you want to take a PGCE, and you will need the relevant A-Level in order to study this at university if this makes sense?
