e.g. for the graph y=sin(x) do you need to be able to explain its shape with the unit circle thing or is that just to help me understand because ngl its really stressing me out

You don't need the unit circle at all, my school acknowledges it but they said it's not needed. It's basically only used to find the equal values (eg sin30 being the same as sin150)
