I have heard certain things about some unis and that if you put on your ucas that you are going to live away, it gives you a better chance of receiving an offer.

I know that there are certain universities I am more willing to move away to.

What real difference does it make by saying that you are happy to move away?

If these rumours are true, I guess it shows that you're dedicated to your studies and won't have to travel back and forth from home, you'll have more time to study and work harder etc

The living away option just determines whether you get put on their accommodation mailing list or not, I'd be surprised if it changed your chance of receiving an offer.

Yeah I have had doubts of that theory but thought it would be good to throw it on here in case anyone else has heard similar things
