Hi, I've been trying to shift some excess lard for a while now! I have no problem with healthy(ish) main meals and weights/gym etc. My issue is with snacking in the evenings and fighting my sugar cravings! Any suggestions?I'm sick of stuffing my face with cadbury's and haribo!

Maintain a balanced diet.
Easier said than done (for some people anyway)!

Good thinking, though I actually find artificial sweeteners make me crave sugar!

Work out your TDEE and knock off 500 calories from that. Or, if you want more information, check my guide:

throw them out. Its the same with any addiction/craving, if you feel like eating cadburys/smoking/masterbating/watching porn, literally do everything and anything else. If you feel like eating something unhealthy, eat a bit. But if it goes beyond like 5 squares, go on a run

Thanks! Actually took your advice on gum, and found some American one on here that’s not got any of that aspartame crap! Some pretty good low sugar snacks too!

Hi, I used to binge eat several times a week. I don't know what causes your cravings but for me it was because I didn't allow myself to have these things. Over time I wanted them more and more which caused me to just eat and eat and eat. What stopped this was allowing myself to have desserts and enjoy them. Firstly, I let myself have a little something every night after dinner, I'm vegan and I usually just had a small chocolate pudding. Then I started having something every other day, then less and less. Now I eat sweet things when I want to and don't crave them as much. Also its convenience as well. It is much easier to get a chocolate bar than make a smoothie which would taste just as nice. Most nights I don't have a dessert but when I do I enjoy it and I craved it so I had it.
A few months ago I got some chocolate bar thing and was about the size of three bars. I started eating it and actually finished it, I thought 'well I have enjoyed it, that's what mattered' instead of feeling guilty about it. I ate normally the next day, if you begin to cut your calories the next day even more those cravings will just get worse, if you do that.
I know you didn't mention binges but if I can overcome a bad binge cycle that I was doing for ages then im sure you can fix your cravings hope all goes well.
