No, it is not bad.
I've dated with an age gap since I was 16.
Is she single and interested in dating?

Just wait till she's 18 if it bothers you, technically she is above the age of consent and you aren't massively older than her, I would say it would be weird if you were in your 30's and crushing on a 17-year-old but your only 22.

We’re been talking for a while, mostly through message due to the Covid situation for a month now. It was actually her mum who set it up really.

I definitely wouldn't do it while she's below 18. After that it's up to you really. She's nearly an adult so it's normal to have feelings for her (it's not like you won't then as soon as it hits midnight on her birthday they'll suddenly begin), but I don't think you should act on them yet.

So, I should just wait it out then till next month and see what happens?

I think I probably would, yeah. If she's still in school then that might be slightly odd as you're at different stages in life, but I think you can keep in contact and see how things go.

I'd say if you two agree and her parent(s) agree I don't see a problem. 3 years isn't a major age gap, I wouldn't worry about it.
