Hey all.

I'm a recently qualified solicitor and I would like to transfer to the Bar. I had strong exposure to litigation work as a paralegal for 2.5 years before I trained at a national firm and my last seat was in commercial litigation.

I'm taking my higher rights this winter in preparation to start building my exposure to advocacy. At university, I was part of the delegation to the Oxford International IP Moot where we won 2nd Best Written Submissions for the Moot.

My A Levels are ABB, I went to Sheffield studying Law and got a 2:1. In terms of languages, I speak English and Spanish fluently.

How many years experience as a solicitor do you think will be necessary to stand out as an applicant to sets? I know competition is beyond fierce.

I'm wanting to go to the more chancery and commercial side of the Bar, preferably in London.
