Hi there,

I know there have been loads of threads about the FATs on here, but just looking for some up to date advice! I've got my FATs coming up soon, for RN Pilot, and was just wondering:

- How hard is it to pass for a Pilot?
- What resources (apart from CBAT app) did people use to practise for the test?
- What is the day of testing like? - any tips?
- What sort of age are the people there?
- What was the experience at Cranwell like as a whole?

Thanks in advance,
Silberner Hund

Search CBAT and you'll find twofold the information and answers to every one of your questions. The tests used by the RN are the RAF tests from my research.

As for the layout of the day, I can only assume it to be identical to the CBAT due to its posting at Cranwell

This is one of those questions that seems perfectly reasonable to ask, but is pretty much impossible to answer.

I'm not saying that to be difficult.

Some people sail through the tests with minimal extra work and score very highly - a natural aptitude, if you will.
Others will work hard for months, pouring over SDT maths, hand eye coordination games, etc etc and just scrape by on the minimum score.

Ultimately it comes down to you and what you're like. You might find them easy, you might find them hard.

I didn't think the Navy were recruiting pilots at the minute? At least that's what their website says!
