It's been 7-8 weeks into uni and I've never been on campus. I've also never spoken to anyone on my course, seen the face of anyone on my course over video call/Zoom or spoken to anyone on my course or in my subject generally (Business) in person. How can I go about socialising with people and entering uni chats during COVID? I live at home, not halls, because I look after someone at home. I've had no uni-related in-person social interaction. Let me know if you have any ideasss

Hi, I would start of small, maybe set up a group chat for your tutorial group and then another for your seminar group, or even reach out to one person on your course and ask them a question about the work (even if you know the answer it's a good start)!

Societies as well are a really good starting point, even if you don't go back after Christmas it's a good start to socialising!

Don't forget a lot of people are in the same boat so they might just be waiting for someone to make the first move! Good luck!!

Hey!

Sorry to hear this - I can imagine that your university experience hasn't been what you had hoped!

Similar to what Abzzz57 said, I would definitely recommend getting involved with Clubs & Societies. I'm not sure what the current situation with them is at your university, but even if you can join a virtual event, I find that meeting people who you already have a similar interest with is a great way to start a friendship!

I hope this helps

Mia

Hi, sorry I'm replying late but I don't have a tutorial group at least to my knowledge. I just attend large lectures of 30+ attendees. I have groupchats for breakout rooms but no one is friendly or seems to have any intention of being friendly (I attempted to reach out but they weren't really social or responsive). I will try and join some societies so I can at least socialise with people who have similar interests. Thanks for replying to my thread!!
