sometimes I only got half an hour for lunch...
so stressful
what do you do in that time??

That's about as long as I have got in every job I've worked in tbh. Not too short at all, I can eat food, go for a smoke and be back at work in that time, no problem.

yep you might as well get used to it.
at work 30 minutes is the legally the minimum length of a lunch break... so most employers have decided it's therefore the correct length for a lunch break.

Usually at college and university my lunch would be 1 hour.

In my trainee engineering job it was half an hour (although the other people in my office stayed in and worked through it which made me feel guilty even though I shouldn't), I needed to get outside to have a break and move around in the fresh air. By the time I walked down to the cafe and back to my car to have my lunch the half an hour was already up.

yh but really want enough time for a hot meal in university. There are several lectures afterwards

Pack a sandwich and eat on the go. 🤷🏼*♀️
Half an hour is plenty of time for lunch.
