I left university after a week this year as it just wasn't right for me, and I really want to go to a much better university next September that is about an hour way inc train and time spent walking. I can't decide whether I should live away from home again or not, I was awfully homesick and the Covid rules meant I felt really lonely and struggled to meet new people, and couldn't meet anyone in my course physically. any advice id appreciate!

I live at home and commute around 1.5 hours to university everytime I go in for in-person stuff. It's a little bit of a hassle and trains have a tendency to be delayed and late so you'll probably not be the most on-time to everything, but I much prefer living at home. If you go to university next year, and still want to live at home, there's probably going to be more in-person meet ups for university societies so you'll have more opportunities to meet new people, and people will want to go out clubbing and to the pub all the time so you shouldn't find it difficult to meet people from your course outside of an academic context.
