How do you work out part b?

Im confused because its f^2 (x) so that doesn't mean square the function f(x) so what do I do here?

Also for part d i got the answer e^x +5 / 2 = g^-1(x) with the domain being any real number is this correct?

f^2 (x) is a shorter way of asking for f∘f (x) (or maybe just ff(x); don't remember what it says in the textbook) i.e., the composition of f and f. Also, your answer to d looks good, assuming you really meant (e^x +5) / 2
