Music industry

hi I’m 16 years old in sixth form currently doing a btec level 3 extended diploma in Business and recently figured out that I want to go into the music industry when I’m older specially A&R or management do you think a degree would be needed or help me even though I don’t really want to go uni?
If not what be the best way to get experience in the industry.
