Maths Degree - Placement Year?

I’ve started my maths degree and I was considering working in academia/education and becoming a lecturer or most likely a secondary/sixth form maths teacher. Is there any point in doing a placement year when i’m gonna do a PGCE anyway?

Hi @d0nkey_dude

I would advise talking with the career advisors at your university as they will be in the best position to advise you.

If you are considering going into teaching, I would consider whether there are opportunities to gain experience in a teaching environment which could then help towards a pgce application.

In terms of lecturing, speak to the lecturing staff at your universities as they will be able to best advise you
