English Student studying in Northern Ireland: Travelling home dilemma?

I don't even know what forum this belongs in lol.
I am from London but I study in Belfast.
Because all the lockdown rules are different in England and NI, I don't know if I'll be able to go home for Christmas. Or more like once I get to London will I be able to fly back out again?
Anyone from outside of NI studying in Belfast facing the same dilemma as me? And what have you decided to do about it?
Flights between England and NI have never stopped and won’t stop at Christmas.

Moving home (like going home for Christmas/moving to university for term time) has always been allowed during lockdown.

If you can then it’s worthwhile trying to self isolate for a week (or more) before you travel either way. Not only to minimise the risk of spreading cv19 but to make sure you won’t have to cancel your scheduled travel because you have symptoms!

It might be worth asking around at university for other english students who might be travelling home and back over Christmas - if anyone has a car and uses the ferry then car sharing and then getting the train home would give you another travel option.
