Are girls more attractive then guys ?

Weird question but- I’m a girl and I often find some guys as “ unattractive” to me. However I RARELY find girls to be unattractive to me. Does this mean that men usually find girls alot more attractive then girls find boys??

I hope that makes sense ahah

omggg i totally understand you! I'm definetly heterosexual, and I have a boyfriend who I think looks like a perfect beautiful angel. however in general, I can think of soooo many guys I'd label as "unattractive" while not so many girls. of course attractiveness is a subjective concept, but in my opinion girls overall are way more attractive

No. There’s nothing about XX that makes you more attractive. Statistically there’ll be a fairly equal number of hot girls and hot guys.

As with many things, I imagine men cluster more around the extremes on either end, women more around averages, but maybe that's not as true of attractiveness - hard to say. That said, which of the two sexes you find attractive is down to your sexuality, so it's not exactly something you can frame this way. The desirable features in a male differ, by and large, to those of a female, so although there will be some commonalities, like good skin and facial symmetry, it's not a one to one comparison.

it's definitely a possibility. studies have shown that men tend to agree more about the attractiveness of women compared to women towards men, so it's possible that guys will also be more likely to find a woman in general more attractive. but like I said, it is subjective and very much a personal opinion. very interesting though

Yeah, I think I've read that girls (at least these days) tend to be fussier about it and likelier to rate men more harshly on their appearance. At the same time, girls - even if they're modest in their looks - do tend to know more than does your average bloke, I believe, about how to leverage their looks. Idk if that factors in.

yes i agree, however there are other possible reasons for this. yes, maybe men find more women attractive than women find men, therefore the women are fussier, however, under the evolutionary theory of relationships, women have to be more picky in who they chose for a partner since they will be the ones who put in more effort for reproduction, which could be a possible explanation to why women are even now more fuss. (sorry I've been revising relationships for psychology haha)

on the whole girls(/women) are 100% visually nicer to look at/more aesthetic than men, i mean they're called the 'fairer sex' for a reason

at least our bfs don't have to worry about us having too much of a wandering eye :wink:

Aha yeah I’ve always wondered why I rarely find unattractive girls but see so many unattractive males even though I’m 100% straight. Do you think that this also works the other way around? That men find other more attractive than a women would find them?

I mean part of it might be to do with the way we're socialised into thinking about gender, like how the word 'pretty' is linked with little girls early on (girls' t-shirts might say 'pretty' and 'angel' while boys' t-shirts might say 'hero' or 'trouble-maker', more personality-based). Women are objectified and so often valued purely for their looks whereas with men it's more about personality and talents etc, it doesn't matter so much what they look like. This will have a big influence on what is perceived as attractive. But it's nicer not to think too deep into that lol.
