Hi there,

Are you already a student on the LCF IPF course or is this one you are looking to apply for?

The IPF course is designed for progression onto courses at LCF so I would recommend either the Foundation Diploma at CSM or Fashion Folio at CSM if you're looking to progress onto CSM Menswear. Please note there is no guarantee of a place on your desired BA after either of these courses.

That being said if you're already on the IPF course I don't think it's impossible to get into CSM you just have to make sure your portfolio is super strong!

Good luck and please don't hesitate to ask any further questions.

Kindest,

Hello,

CSM and CCW students who successfully complete the UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course get a guaranteed offer of a place on a degree course within their subject specialism.

For International Preparation for Fashion, students will get a guaranteed interview for a degree course. Although they do not get a guaranteed offer, I'm told that internal progression rates are very high each year.

I hope that answers your question.

hello thanks for your response.

does that mean for example, a ccw foundation student who applies for ba fashion at csm can get a guaranteed interview? (not a guaranteed offer but an interveiw - i.e mini portfolio selection)

Hi, I've recently read that someone applied to central saint martins Womenswear BA and was rejected because they hadn't done a foundation and CSM didn't even request to see their portfolio. So, how do people with no art/ foundation background get a chance to show their portfolio?? Does this bottle down to the personal statement?
And when LCF or CSM requests to see your fashion design portfolio how long do they give you to submit it. Is there a time deadline?

Hi cei17,

It is required to have a foundation to study a fashion design course at CSM. This is not the same for LCF courses but having a foundation is usually preferable and puts you in a better position for your application if you haven't had much prior experience or relevant education.

The deadline and time frames differ for each course so I can't give you any further details on that sorry.

What course are you applying for?

I hope that helps and please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions.
