what are they and what is a reasonable amount to be paying weekly
- meet new people
- staff available to offer guidance during first year / any major repairs are done asap
- people are usually random from a variety of courses so you meet lots of different people
- selection of what you prefer ; room sizes, ensuite, double, single, shared facilities, studio etc
- can usually pick all girls, all boys, mixed or random
- sometimes staff available 24/7 (security etc) who can also bring parcels
cons
- more expensive than house shares
- do not usually get a say in who you live with
- strict policies such as no candles/ pets / lots of visitors etc
- due to building other flats may make complaints on noise (noise travels through building)
- lots of fire drills
- not always friendly with everyone - might be someoen you do not get on with and you've jsut got the live with it
as for prices it varies heavily on the area and accomodation
- shared facilities is usually cheaper (shared toilet etc)
- studios are usually more expensive
- campus accom may be more expensive
- accom close to city centre may be more expensive
i pay £125 a week which sounds like a lot but is a doublt ensuite room in a modern building
can get hosue shares for considerably less but there are pros and cons of these too
good luck with whatever you decide x
