I'm confused about what formula has to be used when answering exam questions. I just did a question where I had to state the molecule with an absorption peak, and although I got it correct, the mark scheme has it written out in a confusing way and it is saying 'penalise sticks once per pair'. So, are we supposed to be writing and drawing our molecules in structural? This is for AQA

Penalise sticks will be referring to bonds that go nowhere, i.e. missing H atoms.

So is it acceptable to draw it out in displayed, showing all atoms?
