Bristol old vic Acting Auditions
I am applying to Bristol Old Vic Theatre school for BA Acting. I am confident in preparing my speeches, however, I'm a bit stuck on choosing a song. The song has to be unaccompanied and they say to avoid contemporary pop songs. I've thought about doing an old country song from the 60s which can be "acted out" really well but I'm not sure if it's considered "contemporary"(?). I've also thought about doing songs from lesser known musicals but I'm not really sure if musical theatre is what they'd want in a acting audition. I think they are looking for songs that you can act out but I'm not sure what genres they would like to hear. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated!
