I'm doing application of conservation laws and I keep getting asked "what interaction is involved with xyz?"

Strong interaction only affects hadrons (and holds the nucleus together); weak interaction affects all particles (shorter range) and is the one involved in beta decay, electron capture and e-p collisions. Also strange particles are produced though the strong interaction (where strangeness is conserved) and decay through the weak interaction.
Hope this helps!
