My dad is just heating some oil in the chip pan with the door open and the one in the hallway goes off! Sup with that?!

They're like really paranoid people. WHAT WHAT FIRE!!!! No, it's just some burnt toast.

Not sure about you, but I'd prefer an over-sensitive fire alarm to an under-sensitive one.

Ours does this as well. If the light gets turned on, it usually shuts up.

Saved my life once. I left incense burning downstairs while i had a bath. fire alarm went off, i thought "huh....weird" got out..went downstairs, whole mantlepiece was on fire >.> huge mirror cracked, smoke damage all up the wall, mothers degree burnt, antique loom just charcol.....was all a bit dramatic. but if it wasnt for the alarm going off, that fire woulda been left for another hour or so. god knows what coulda happened.

My stupidity however did lead to my mates mother fitting their house with smoke alarms....so atleast Some good came of this!

Now if mine goes off cos, i'm making toast, i cant help but chuckle. love that ****** i really do

I tested mine a few weeks back and I pressed the button and nothing happened, then 20 minutes later it beeped.....what's up with that? I can't change the battery because it gets power from the mains.
