Is it weird to have a downstairs bedroom

No, my friend used to have a down stairs room and she slept on a separate bed but shared a room with her parents. I actually won’t mind having a downstairs room as long as I don’t share with anyone.

Nice

I dont get the issue. What does it matter what floor the bedroom is on?

Lots of houses have bedrooms on the ground floor and bungalows have all there bedrooms on the ground floor. I've also lived in house with bedrooms in the basement.

My mum was making fun of it

Why? It’s her house-her fault it has bedrooms downstairs.
This is a non issue if ever there was one.

Well, I would just tell her to move on and stop bugging me because of a room.

She doesn't understand about how I use charge my car through the window and she doesn't live with us

It just makes me self conscious if that makes sense when people call it weird because people think we are broke and because of it

I have it and people think its weird and no one else in my family would take the downstairs room. I don't have a problem but I really don't like getting judged about and stuff. I charge my car up through window into the mains so I like it for that purpose and if I didn't have the downstairs room I would have had to but the manufacturer wall charger which expensive. When I bring friends round and we go to my room they probably are expecting it to be downstairs and that but its not.

The main drawbacks are people passing by and staring in or the noise from people going in and out. Also a possible security issue. The front downstaors room is normally a bit larger. If you dont have any issues, then who cares what other people think, theres really nothing to think about.

Yee
It’s far more convenient being on the ground floor and never having to cart anything up and down the stairs!

When you change your furniture or move house you’ll be glad for your ground floor room

It's only weird cuh the norm is a bedroom upstairs that's about it.. I'd be more worried about someone sneaking in through the window at night and stealing my plumbs rather than getting judged about the location of my bedroom.

what's a plumb?

I didn’t say you were bugging me.. please read the text again.
I think it is a bit weird just because we tend to have bedrooms on upper floors in houses but I have stayed in ground floor bedrooms. The upside down houses though do take a bit of time to get used to with bedrooms on ground floor and kitchen & living room upstairs which there don't seem to be many in this country
I used to have a downstairs bedroom (this was at my parents' previous house). It was next to the front door, but no-one ever walked past the window unless they were going round to the back garden. I could have had an upstairs bedroom, but the available room was too small, so I opted for the downstairs one, which was originally designed as a bedroom and really quite spacious.

One of the bonuses, actually, was that it was essentially at the diagonally opposite corner of the house to my parents' room, so it was easier to stay up late and watch TV without them knowing. This was especially useful when Channel 5 basically became a soft-porn channel after 10.
