Edexcel said last year they were able to track people who visited the thread with the leaked exam paper in it. What happens if you look at the thread purely for revision purposes and you didn't intend to cheat?

I think they would accuse you of cheating, as you looked at the thread no matter what you say.

Technically its still cheating as it would give you an advantage over everyone else even if you didn't intend to look at it.

Best to just avoid visiting any revision threads over the exam peiod then.

I agree. I don't think there would be any paper leaks this year (a high chance).

I think it would be tragic if anyone chose to, say, post any 2005 leaked papers in this thread. And I'm sure you'd all agree.

I doubt this would happen, as people can track you down some how.

Would be possible to get tracked down but I doubt they could catch everyone (if they were at a cyber cafe or a library). Even if they did catch those people they may have told others so lets hope they never get leaked in the first place.

If they get caught, they would be disqualified from the subject.

You think everyone who saw any questons, whether intending to cheat or not, would be disqualified?

Yes. The exam board will assume that they will cheat, as you saw the questions.

Exam boards can't take any chances. If you see the questions in advance whether or not you intended to look at them it is still cheating.

Yes, apparently there was a leaked Pure Maths paper from Edexcel. Not sure which unit it was, I'll find a link.

But how would they tell if you were not at your own PC or if you were using a proxy to view the thread?
