    What are the concentrations?

Well in two tonnes of sulphur, its 2,000,000g, so to get the moles, you divide that by the atomic mass.

    Thanks

I don't think you will need the concentrations.

I thought it was just moles = mass/Mr? - As they're both solids. You only need concn if it's a solution don't you?

I;m still stuck. If it was 2,000,000 over 32 n the sanswer would be 125000 moles
what about 100kg of calcium hydroxide

    2 tonnes of S = 62,500 moles

    2 tonnes = 2000kg = 2,000,000g
    Mr of Sulphur = 32
    Moles - 2000000/32 = 62500 moles (where did you get 125000 from?)
But yeh, that should be right. You would think in a large mass, there would be a lot of moles.
Just do the same working for the calcium hydroxide, except you have to work out the mr.

    2 tonnes = 2000kg = 2,000,000g
Mr of Sulphur (s) = 16 (where did you get s2 from?)
    Moles - 2000000/32 = 125000 moles
But yeh, that should be right. You would think in a large mass, there would be a lot of moles.

the Ar of sulfur is 32

Same idea with Ca(OH)2 its Mr is 74 gmol-1

This is where you want to post chemistry questions:
