physics bsc at Edinburgh - contact hours

Hello.
I'm considering studying physics at Edinburgh but I noticed it has 14 contact hours per week. Is this not really little for a physics bsc degree? - also considering that Ed is ranked quite highly in most uni ranking
(I read online that the average for physics tends to be between 18 and 22.)
Any help or advice is hugely appreciated.
