I’ll try and help, however is that all the question says or an abbreviated version because I’m not really sure what your asking. Could you give us anything more?

He's asking for the empirical formula of the hydrocarbon and magnesium nitride.
For the hydrocarbon one, you know the mass of carbon in it, so you can find the mass of hydrogen in it. Divide the masses by their atomic masses, then divide by the smallest answer to find a ratio of carbons to hydrogens.
Do the same thing for magnesium nitride, except with Mg and N.
