Do you have any class notes?
Use them as brain fodder for your essay. This is literally a comparison essay task in other words. What you need to do is to essentially write up five or four paragraphs each focusing on a specific time period or idea that can be developed fully in more detail. Identify any overall patterns too to look at and analyse carefully as well.
Read beyond the lines of the question to figure out any deeper hidden meaning too. Make up some brief notes. Try to understand the whole question additionally. Start by researching the topics online for some more information. Use only valid recommended trustworthy sources however. List any reference sources used at the bottom in a citation source list for peace of mind. Focus on your task etc. Good luck.
One more tip, also do some research on old fashioned mindsets toward gay people. You can find a ton of good data to use from doing so. Consider why did people back then felt that way in addition. Explore old fashioned cultural attitudes and the like in order to give you a wider historical perspective. Summarise the facts simply as best as you can originally for higher marks. All the best.
