Dumb question but what does deadline today at 12pm mean?

Guys,
If you were told a deadline is today at 12 pm, does it mean work submitted at 12pm is considered late? Or anything submitted after 12pm is late?
Why on earth would you wait till anything near the deadline anyhow.....

Anything after 11:59 is a no go. You should submit well before then obvs......like a normal person.

Because it would be hypocritical of me to do otherwise
In all seriousness I did say by, not at. OP should have done it much earlier.

Lol, I agree last-minute submissions are bad. I'm not here to encourage it tbh.
I'm just curious. A few us submitted assignments online, my internet is absolute crap and took like forever to upload. It finally did process but at
12pm on the dote.
I once submitted an assignment at 5:59pm when the deadline was 6 and it was the most stressful experience of my life
consider the deadline as 10am... to avoid IT / transport / natural disasters etc! Never ever cut it finer than an hour.
