Is actually upsetting about all new cars have to be electric from 2030. There's going to be no engine sounds, cars are going to be boring and they are going to be more expensive. Atm a young person who just wants a brand new car but basic they can get Toyota Aygo for about 8 bags maybe but an electric small car is going to be imo minimum 15 bags and I think that's pushing it. I think its going to be that for a basic small electric car.

The bigger issue is going all BEV isnt even the most sensible path (with respect to minimising GHGs).
Need a variety of powertrains for different vehicle classes.

It should be entertaining to see if the government will hold itself to these standards, a battery powered tank for the military being an amusing prospect

It will hit home when tescos refrigerated 18 tonne delivery trucks become unsustainable to operate as an EV.
I cant wait for extinction rebellion to find out the dielectric coolant EVs use is actually oil.
