Hiya everyone, Scottish applicant here!

Subject applying for ~ Maths

College applying to ~ Not sure yet, considering an open application (but welcome any recommendations to convince me otherwise)

Advanced Highers ~ Maths, Statistics, Mechanics, Economics

Achieved AH grades ~ A*A*A*A*

Achieved Highers ~ A*A*A*A*A*A*

Why Oxford? ~ The collegiate system and sense of community really appeals to me. And I think the tutorial system would suit me well. Also the course looks really challenging and interesting.

Not really sure if this is the right place to post this (I don't think an Oxford A100 thread has been set up yet?) but can anyone tell me if Oxford still let you go to London for your clinical years. There's a lot of conflicting information out there so I thought I'd better ask to clarify. It's not a huge factor in deciding but I'd still be interested to know
Thanks in advance

Subject: economics & management
College: I think Worcester but I'm going to look round before deciding
GCSE grades: 9999999999
A levels: chemistry, maths, english lit (really worried about lack of further maths does anyone know if my application will suffer for this?)
Predicted: not sure yet but in mocks i got A*AA. was 1% off A* in one of them and I'm sure my predicted will be higher since I've had extenuating circumstances that would've affected my mocks
Why Oxford?: I love the idea of the tutorial system as well as of course the architecture, and some of the traditions sound really fun

Hi everyone,

Just spreading the word about a Zoom workshop coming up this Saturday 17 July 2021 at 15:30 UK time. This recurring workshop will help prospective PPE and E&M applicants improve their TSA scores and is an opportunity for anyone interested in applying for PPE/E&M at Oxford to connect with students who have been successful in their applications.

It's a free workshop hosted by Oxford students. The goal of this workshop is to increase access to application preparation services/mentoring, which is often a paid service that students cannot afford.

If you are interested in joining, please put your name and email on the sign up form and you'll be sent the Zoom link before the workshop date:
https://forms.gle/hkrhRqPikshW47sL9
Thank you so much, this is really helpful

Hi all, just been emailed from my Head of Sixth Form about a new programme who has contacted a few schools in our local area. Apparently they are called Oxbridge Plus and offer free mock interviews to students and it’s run by some Oxford students! If anyone is interested when my Head of sixth emails me back I can send them their details

Apparently they recommend you do multiple interviews between summer and december but i’m not sure how it works

@Oxford Mum - thoughts?
Hi! I'm a little late but this sounds so interesting - is it still possible to sign up? Would you be able to send the details

WOOSTA! WOOSTA! WOOSTA! :rave: :woo: :awesome:

Also known as Worcester

On a more serious note: think of your college as where you primarily eat, sleep, and socialise. What do you want/need out of your living experience for the next 3-4 years? That was how I tried to approaching narrowing down colleges when I was applying :yep:

Off to Oxford on 6 August, hope I can visit some of the colleges and do a photo shoot with pink woshette. Not sure if they will let me into the colleges though. May have to make do with some general pics of Radcliffe square, punting and the botanical gardens

Ah so I will wave the flag for soft toy friends in Oxford!! Will create a special thread "Pink Woshette goes to Oxford" and tag you in.

Woshette has been extra lucky for me. She appeared during a zoom meeting at work and a rather cute colleague remarked on her. We have ended up going out together and are very happy.

and I thought that Woshette was just for the benefit of the students...

Please do, Persephone and Pals can live vicariously through Pink Woshette :gah:

So pleased the relationship is going well! :awesome: :yay: :hugs: Persephone appears in some of my Zoom calls too. No partners emerging from Persephone-related Zoom calls yet this end, but you never know

Prsom and bless you, tlg! My boyfriend wants to see Christchurch and you can get in if you book ahead! Pink woshette would prefer a photo shoot at her own future college, new college, but let’s see whose doors open to us.
