What should I do? I got lower grades at gcse but want to do vet nursing at university

So I want to get into university to do my dream job as a vet nurse. However my teacher said that with my grades there is a low likelihood of being accepted onto an undergraduate course at uni and might as well not bother applying.
My gcse grades are: English language 4, Combined Science 4, Art 3, geography 3, and i passed functional skills maths (gcse grade 4 equivalent). I also am currently at college studying Level 3 Animal Care to which i am trying to get a distinction.

Is my teacher right in saying I dont stand much of a chance getting into university to do an undergraduate degree in vet nursing?
If my teacher was wrong and I do stand a good chance at getting accepted into uni, which universities would you suggest I apply to? Which would be most likely to let me onto the course?
You can still do well if you put in the work for aleevels. Almost all unis only look at your a level grades for admission
Your teacher should not be telling you you will do badly, as for universities you need to do research I liked to use ucas hub, each uni has different entry requirements and they sometimes lower them if they want you on their course

Bristol (GCSE 4 in Maths and English) - https://www.bristol.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/2020/vet-nursing-biovet-science/bsc-veterinary-nursing-and-companion-animal-behav/
Harper Adams (5 GCSE’s at grade A-C/4 to include Maths, English Language and Science.) - https://www.harper-adams.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/119/veterinary-nursing

You may need to retake GCSE Maths alongside your Level 3 (A levels or BTEC) -to get a full GCSE, functional skills may not be accepted. This is easy to arrange with your school/college.

Or look at an Apprenticeship https://www.vets4petscareers.com/apprenticeships/
Or Army Vet work : https://apply.army.mod.uk/roles/army-medical-service/veterinary-technician

Have you looked at the full entry requirements? They usually spell them out for level 3 as well as A levels. Best to speak to the unis - they will tell you exactly how flexible they can be or suggest access courses
