You can apply to do an engineering degree apprenticeship whilst at uni, but you wouldn’t be eligible for funding if you already had a degree. (Businesses usually fund your academic study through a government levy scheme that all large employers pay into).

I’ve done 4 engineering apprenticeships from level 2 to level 6 (BEng)

Feel free to fire any questions at me

I do not have a degree yet, I am in my first year, 1st term and was just wanting to apply for aerospace or civil engineering apprenticeships but wasn't sure if I am allowed to do that considering I'm at uni right now.

Start dates usually align with academic years, so you could drop out of full time studies prior starting a new academic year if you land a degree apprenticeship.

You’ll have to drop out of full-time uni and sort out student load stuff. But as long as you’re not enrolled in another course, you can be enrolled on an apprenticeship. I’d advise not dropping out unless you get an offer though. They’re very competitive.

So in short I should submit the application for the apprenticeships while continuing my studies but only leave uni if I get a guaranteed offer (contract) from the relative company I apply to.

Yes, exactly.
I’d familiarise yourself with what to do if you need to leave uni in the meantime. It should help smoothen the transition.

Worth mentioning that employers will totally understand why you would want to drop out for a degree apprenticeship. Explaining this in interviews would help show your interest. Don’t worry about them thinking you’re a drop out, they won’t, you’re just looking to swap to gain hands on experience.
