Vosene to strip dye out of hair

I’ve dyed my hair many times within the past three years. From brown to blonde to black to blonde and then green, blue, pink etc. And then back to black and then brown. I have dyed my hair a midnight blue in October and it’s now a black colour. I really want to get my hair done at the salon as through all the times dying my hair I’ve always done it at home. I want to go a brown with light brown highlights. My natural hair is a chocolate brown but now it’s black at the moment I know I would need my hair lightening before I can get it done. I’ve heard vosene is a good shampoo to strip the colour out my hair. Do you know if vosene will strip this box dye out of my hair and if so how many times do I have to keep using it untill I see results ?

I've used it to remove red; it came out after a few washes. From what I know blue and black are very difficult to get out, so I don't know how well vosene would strip the colour completely but it should at least lighten it. It doesn't do much on the first wash, you have to persevere until it starts to come out. Also keep in mind that it's very drying, so use conditioner.
