If you're actually eating just 1000 calories, you will lose weight, unless you have something metabolically wrong. Also, why don't you tone your body? What does 'looking slimmer' mean?
Replace all sugary drinks with water. Only drink water (and coffee if you need it). Avoid the fizzy drinks. You will start noticing a difference after 2 weeks. Whenever I wanna lose weight the very first thing I do is cut out all drinks and replace with water. Always works. Sugar is the main cause of weight gain btw, so reduce as much as possible.
