If anyone is in Derby today watchout for me with my parents, i'm wearing a U2 360 degree tour shirt with Sheffield 20th on the back.

Oh and there is a Kavestoke court halls, its just small.

oh cool thats ok then. he had a feeling it was like the reject halls where all the old people and foreignors go lol. im waiting for my UCAS to hurry the **** up so my place at derby is confirmed, then i can apply for accommodation. i asked if i could reserve a room though seeing as they hav accepted me and that, yet they want me to wait for UCAS to confirm everything even though we hav a verbal agreement. i just know by the time UCAS comes through, all the halls spaces are gone, then il kick off big time lol

wooooo im doing the BEd education course as well  hello

Hey! Are you from Derby or coming from somewhere else? Congrats on getting in; I hated the interview process, mainly the bit where we had the pictures of objects and you had to improvise a use for them - nightmare! Looking forward to starting now though, especially as I’m working at the minute stuck behind a desk all day is too much to handle!

i'm from london. i got an interview through clearing for diagnostic radiography. i'm a bit worried about the area...if it's a bit too country sidey for me...lol. aaaah!:s-smilie:

It’s definitely not too country sidey! I mean, it’s there if you go looking for it but mainly in Derbyshire – Derby itself is very much a ‘towny’ place... but it's most certainly not London!
Reply 146
what's the clubs like? many around?
Reply 147
hmmm, there are a few decent places but i do mean 'a few' - i like to go into Nottingham atleast once a month or else it does get a bit boring. Nottingham is good though, lots of clubs and loads more variety.

Yeah I am, normal room though :frown:
meh aslong as there is a place to socialise i'm cool.

On another note what is Derby like interms of online gaming? is it well strict or relaxed abit? Just i'm an avid World of Warcraft player and Xbox 360 live gamer too.

oo and what societies are there at Derby, like specific ones cause all I see is that I have to wait till freshers to find out..

Thankyou

Phil

I'd be really nervous if i had to move somewhere totally new but i'm sure you'll have an awesome time; it's a bit annoying missing out on the halls experience and moving somewhere different but it was just easier for me to stay where i am, especially money wise! What made you choose Derby? I know it does have a good rep for the BEd course and it looks great to me so far so should be good! Just been reading all the info on Freshers Fortnight - looks promising!

Are all the hall in derby campus full? i'm going to call just to double check. i'm looking for accommodation anywhere close to derby campus....around kedlestone road...ahhh it's so frustrating!....i have nowhere at the moment!...plus i live in London, so it's not exactly easy for me to come down to derby.............:frown:

I was looking on their website a few days ago and it said there are still places left in laverstoke court or something, so if you apply to halls you have to put that place down.

hey, yeah i already found a place...around the ashbourne area, private accommodation had to do, as i was too late for the halls and they are all full now. only thing it's auwite a bit of a long walk... 15min-20min to get to the uni. good exercise for me though lol!
Hey!

Glad you found somewhere! Don't worry too much about the distance, all the halls are at least that far a walk from the Uni anyway so it sounds like you're near the halls anyway.
