English lit or modern languages?

Hi!!
I'm considering degree options and I'm wondering which would be more useful for future employment English lit or modern languages? I like both equally so objectively which would be more useful for employment?
Also, any extracurriculars for modern languages?

Modern languages.

You could tutor younger students at your school (doesn't have to be face to face), or set up a book club in a foreign language - your school might have access to books. Nothing else comes to mind right now.

I basically did a literature, history, philosophy and politics degree but in Japanese, French and Spanish. Extremely versatile. :hat2:
