The idea is to get really cheap stuff from abroad through the internet and then sell them on to other people for higher prices. We would sell both face to face as well as through sites such as ebay. We plan to sell basiclaly anything we think that we can get a large enough profit on. For example we've already found a really good football shirt website and also good headphone sites as well. What do you all think of our idea? Do you think it can work and if not why? Also do you have any good tips for an idea like this? Thanks in advance

I don't know what history Young Enterprise has at your school, but from what I saw from YE at mine I wouldn't trust to by a pencil off them - let alone headphones or clothing. What happens if something goes wrong with them ? Do you provide refunds ? Receipts ?

What you really meant to say was:

"1.Buy cheap stuff from internets(usually over 9,000 units)
2.Sign up to Ebay.
3.????????
4.PROFIT

Good idea amirite?"

What about ethics and quality? Who are you planning to sell to? Personally I'd find out what the market is/who you are aiming to sell to before going ahead 'cos you could lose money.

Every man for himself mate. Personally I've just short sold this idea on the london stock exchange, I don't think it stands a chance, ebay are just about to quadruple their fees, the retail market has almost gone in reverse with just about more refunds than sales in the past quarter, import duty is about to triple and will be extended to items valued at a quid and up, and oh yeah, Young Enterprise have a 2 trillion pound pension blackhole. They are all facts.

when we did YE in 2007; we weren't allow to officially trade online...no ebay and no credit/debit card.

all has to be done in cash or by cheque.
