Orthoptics & Optometry Personal Statement Help!

I had a ramble the other day about what I should apply for at uni here. And I'm currently trying to adapt my personal statement to cater for both optometry and orthoptics [it was originally just aimed at orthoptics], it's filled with loads about shadowing, work, and work experience but I'm over by loads of characters and my form tutor says I need to rant about my A2 subjects?
I've no idea what to write and considering I'm already loads over I've no idea what to get rid of.
Any help anyone?
Obviously I don't wanna post my personal statement on here, but anyone whos currently doing orthoptics or has graduated [cause im leaning towards orthoptics] would let me email them it and ask for their opinion that would be great =]

try the PS helper forum - you can post your PS there for people to ready. Only verified PS helpers (who are already at university) will be able to view it, and noone else who has posted their own statements can read it. You should get some feedback from there

Hi!
Yeah thanks for the advice, I did that yesterday and I'm waiting for a reply now. All my teachers keep telling me different things in there, but they seem to all be saying I've done too much work exp  This sucks 'cause I've been working my arse off for ages and I'm probably gunna have to get tid of most of it:confused:
But I'm gunna see what they say anyways =]

The most important thing with work experience and your PS is not to just list it all as some great experience, saying I did this and I went there blah blah blah.. Say you have had a lot of experience, but go into specifics about WHAT YOU LEARNED. That's the most important thing - what you gained from your experience; anybody can get it, you have to show the admissions tutors why the experience makes you a valid candidate for their course.

I did, 'theres none of you in there' my clueless bio teacher said to me today. I understand they need to know about me, but surely my commitment to the subject is important too? and that's because I go to college, then work, lie in on a sunday, and repeat. xD And observe at orthoptics departments and so on.
I've done it all so I can talk about it, and now I have to cut it down 2000 characters I'll more than happily delete the crap about photography xD
