How to calculate how many cell cycles that produce a certain number of cells?

For example, 5 cell cycle give 32 cells.
If a bigger number of cells like 512, how to calculate how many cell cycles occured in a fast way? (Is there any equation to do so)?

Let x=number of cell divisions.
The number of cells = 2^x.

Therefore x=log2(number of cells).

If you have 512 cells, x=log2(512) = 9.
