I'm thinking that, if I choose to do English Literature at university, I could do my EPQ about Atwood's 'The Handmaid's Tale' and why it's relevant in today's society and world, looking at the context of the time it was written in politically and socially and the themes of sexism, oppression, inequality and feminism and how the dystopian world created may be somewhat reflective of our own. However, given its sometimes mature nature, I don't know if it would be an appropriate text to analyse and present about. What do y'all think? It would either be that or the impact of children's literature on society, the media, and their development. What should I do?

If you can make a go of it and then we'll then the Handmaid's Tale is a good choice. It depends on how much sex you will discuss and how much your teacher will read about the mature stuff. At the end of the day it is your EPQ and if you think you can get a good grade then go for it.
