Uni or degree apprenticeship ?

Hey
I’m currently in year 13 and really undecided on what to do after college. I’m studying for my a levels and do not have a clue what to do after wards. I think I would enjoy a degree apprenticeship more because of the balance however I’ve heard the are extremely challenging because you have a whole degree but work as well so you spend more of your free time studying than a university student would.
Please can someone give me some advice on degree apprenticeships compared to university
Thank you

I done a masters degree in engineering and I honestly 100% would do an electrical apprenticeship or degree apprenticeship instead if I could go back. Unless you really want to be something like a doctor/academic or have that life experience then I would avoid it.

Because;
Everyone goes to uni nowadays and comes out with no experience so getting a graduate job is VERY competitive because there's more graduates than jobs and most companies don't want to pay to train people up for the risk of them leaving.
Lots of graduates don't earn any more than people who didn't go to uni so the extra effort isn't really worth it for a lot of careers.
You don't earn anything for years when studying your degree, you aquire student debts.
When you do an apprenticeship you do earn money and you do get the required experience to make it much easier to move into employment

OP, I pretty much second what this guy said.
It's what I would have done had I taken my A-Levels more seriously.

Its been a while since my A-Levels(I finished them way back in 2012) and since then I'd say a good 75% of my A-Level Cohort who did go to uni are no further on in life or better or worse off than I am. In fact, dare I say they're worse off as they all have the debt whereas I don't!

End of the day it's what you want to do, but take it from me who has the advantage of hindsight, you'd be far better off doing the degree apprenticeship as opposed to uni. Yes you may not have the full 'student experience' (or whatever its called nowadays) but you'll have 3 more years career experience, earning an actual wage, no debt, the freedom of choice that comes with more disposable income and a guaranteed job.

Tbh if one is after the uni experience, you can easily visit mates at uni or just be lucky enough to work with people in a similar situation, it worked for me
