JANUARY 2021 IELTS EXAM and new corona virus variant

Whilst the new coronavirus variant is spreading so fast, don't you people think all IELTS exams in January should be shifted to February, whilst the vaccines should be more appropriately rolled out in most areas, and people will already have their 2nd dose?

Delaying ielts by a month isn't supposed to matter much i guess.

But if candidates catch covid, they may be prevented from traveling abroad to desired Unis.
As far as University applications are concerned, you just need to have the right IELTS grades by August.

So even if the Jan exam dates are cancelled you still have plenty of time to actually take IELTS.

Yeah. but jan exams need to cancelled particularly because of the new strain. besides, since there is still lot of time before applications it may not be wise to take the exam at this high time. Many people have already registered for Jan & it should be helpful for them if their bookings are shifted to a later date. Also PG dates differ from UGs.

So you cancel it and just take the exam later in the year.
I don't quite see what the big problem is here.
