As a BTEC student, who is due to sit 2 exams in the next couple of days/week. Which I have been informed are still going ahead. I can’t express how ridiculous this is. Especially as we have just been put into a national lockdown.
BTEC students have also suffered under the closure of colleges/schools, just like A level and GCSE students. The prime minister admitted "this will mean it is not possible or fair for all exams to go ahead this summer as normal". But vocational exams (BTEC) that are taking place this week/month are still going ahead.
Yet, A level and GCSE exams that are mean’t to be taking place in a few months time, are having “alternative arrangements” for how their grades will be awarded.
We’ve had the same disadvantages as other students, but are still being expected to sit exams we haven’t been taught properly for. This is completely unfair as every other exam is cancelled, but BTEC ones aren’t.
