Does anyone know where to find information about Meselson and Stahl. I have been trying to find something for this question below and I can't

explain why the bands found by meselson and Stahl after one replication do not support the theory of conservative replication

Conservative replication means that you would have the heavy band and a new lighter band forming when the solution is separated. Now Due to the Meselson and Stahl experiment proving DNA replication is semi-conservative. It means the original strand will break up into single strands and each one being used as a template for the new strands to form. Where as conservative is you will have the original heavy strand after the new one is formed.

if it was conservative the bands that would form would be one heavy and one light band. But instead due to you having semi-conservative replication you get a middle weighted band having one heavy half and one light half of each strand of DNA
